Are science and technology identical? Many people think technology is another name for applied science. It is certainly true that sometimes science and technology overlap. Howerver, the two fields are not identical. There are important differences between science and technology.These are differences fall into three categories: goals , methods , outcomes. Goals are the results that scientists or technicians hope to achieve.Methods are what each group does to achieve the goals.Outcomes are the results that each group achieves.
